Teams To Track:

Oswego East
Oswego East is the 2023 Hoop Mountain Tournament Champion. A very well balanced team. Oswego East has all around size, and all around shooting ability. 2024 guard Jehvion Starwood brings great athleticism paired with shooting, passing, and an all around game.
Metea Valley
Metea played well together all weekend. Metea excels in transition. 2024 wing Will Ashford brings size and athleticism. 2024 point guard James Parker plays with pace, and can create a shot and finish at the rim. 2025 wing/forward Jake Nosek provides major size, defense, rebounding, and shooting.
Yorkville
No Jason Jakstys for the Foxes this weekend, however this did not hinder their play. 2024 wing Bryce Salek provides great size and major athleticism for the Foxes. 2024 guard Jory Boley is a major scorer for the Foxes. With Jakstys, I predict that Yorkville will be able to easily handle their conference play and make a run in the playoffs.
Neuqua Valley
Neuqua is a very solid team. 2024 guard Luke Kinkade lit it up every game with shots from all over the court. Neuqua is full of three-point threats and they move the ball very well in the half court. Neuqua also has some size on the boards.
Peoria Richwoods
The return of four-star recruit Lathan Sommerville sparks great potential for Peoria. In addition to a great big, Peoria includes several skilled guards that can step out and shoot it when needed. Hard nosed, physical, and athletic team.
Most Valuable Players:

Lathan Sommerville - Peoria Richwoods '24
All weekend Lathan was a force on the court. The 6'10" big continuously crossed over defenders, knocked down threes, and wowed the crowd with powerful dunks. Lathan led Peoria Richwoods deep in bracket play, and was one of the highest stat sheet fillers in the whole tournament. Lathan Sommerville is currently committed to play basketball at Rutgers University.

Luke Kinkade - Neuqua Valley '24
One of the best shooters in the state. Luke could not be guarded from behind the arc this weekend. Luke led the tournament in made 3-point field goals and led his Neuqua Valley team to the championship. Despite his near 30 point performance in the championship game, Neuqua Valley fell short 65-66 to Oswego East. Luke Kinkade is a serious prospect for D1/D2 schools to keep an eye on.
